Pastora Neida Torres
Pastor Neida Torres. is a native of Pennsylvania who grew up in the North Side of Philadelphia.
She moved to New Haven Connecticut in 1981, in November 1981 at the age 21 she met her
mentor, the late Pastor Abraham Massage from Star of Jacob Church.
It was through this encounter and under her mentor’s teaching that she received her formal
training and call to the ministry. (Recognizing and nurturing the anointing and calling upon her
life Pastor Massage appointed her a teacher of the youth missionary group.
In addition to serving in various capacities of leadership throughout the years, Pastor Neida was
also involved in a variety of ministerial accomplishments that prepared her to embrace lost souls
and minister to the whole individual regardless of challenges or limitations.
Following years of preparation, she joined Pastor Carmen Marcano from Church of Compassion
there God released her to embark upon her own ministry. she was ordained as Pastor of Church
of Compassion the New Generation on January 31, 2009. Demonstrating unwavering faith, she
made the decision to devote her life and service to the ministry and Pastor full time. The work of
the Lord has always been first and foremost in her heart. Pastor Neida has often stated that
“before you leave the building, I want to give you something to think about when you go home.”
Her charismatic style of preaching and humorous personality filters over into her sermons as she
often uses practical stories to capture the attention of the congregation; “so it is in the natural, so
it is in the spirit.”
As a Sower goes forth to sow, she has an anointing that allows her to minister to those in need of
healing of the mind, body, and soul. With such a great calling to fulfill, she finds time to visit the
sick, make calls to members, conduct bible study and baptismal classes, and spend time studying
God’s word. (she is supported in her ministry by her husband of 42 years Pastor Donato, their 3
children, 9 grandchildren. Her ultimate desire is to see people fully embrace God’s love and to
walk in victory and power while experiencing the fullness of God’s promises
